Summary
My name is Ruth Kerr. I have a BA in fine art, specializing in painting and drawing from NCAD, Dublin. Following on from my bachelors, I undertook a research masters at IADT which centered around visualizing scientific images using digital modeling. Specifically, I used microscopic scans of dying colon cancer cells to create terrains in Unity, creating immersive environments where users could explore the cells as a landscape. Another major aspect of this project was using a point cloud scanning device to scan the nano-tech laboratory where the cancer cells were analysed. I have a passion for creating weird and wonderful environment art, which have the ability to tell a story as much as any decent character does!
